We have designed the innovative Winderen Knee Protect Solution stirrups with a kinetic energy absorption system, to significantly reduce stress on riders' knees, particularly when jumping. At the same time, the Winderen Knee Protect Solution stirrups make it possible to achieve a foot position in the stirrup that is exceptionally stable and unchanging, allowing comfortable and efficient lower leg actions.
Kinetic energy absorber system
Upper absorber
Was designed to absorb part of the energy generated by the direct pressure exerted at the level of the stirrup attachment to the stirrup leather, especially when landing jumps. It gives a feeling of security and confidence to the rider.
Lower absorber
It absorbs part of the remaining energy that is generated when landing on the stirrups and also provides stable and comfortable support on the track as well as during work on the flat. Perfectly suited to the needs of endurance riders too.
Adjustable floor tilt
Taking into account the different preferences of riders, we have created the possibility of being able to adapt the inclination of the stirrup floor individually, from the classic way to an inclination of up to 5°.
To obtain an ideal weight, we have designed the frame of our stirrups from durable, high-quality aluminum. The floor and upper absorber are made of a durable composite. Thus we obtained a weight of 560g for our stirrups, a weight which was deemed “ideal” by riders who want their stirrups neither too heavy nor too light.
Thanks to this fine balance, stirrups are virtually undetectable.
Winderen Knee Protect Solution stirrups were designed in cooperation with riders of many levels, ranging from recreational riders, amateurs to professional riders. In this large group, there were show jumping, dressage and eventing riders. A large part of this group has suffered joint injuries in the past, which have left after-effects and which cause them pain in their knees and/or ankles just after training. We chose such a large and diverse test group, in order to be able to create a product that meets the expectations of all kinds of riders, regardless of their level and discipline; in our opinion, this goal was 100% achieved!
The difference in the forces acting on a 50kg rider and a 90kg rider is immense. With our Knee Protect Solution absorber system, we have achieved our goal of blurring this difference by using smart materials. Our stirrups provide the same feeling of comfort to all riders, regardless of their weight.
